BACK STRETCHER
The back stretcher. A simple yet super effective exercise targeting and strengthening our lower back with a resistance band. Similar to the Deadlift exercise and helps with daily life being similar to picking up things. Other engaged muscles are core, glutes and hamstrings.
For starting position stand straight with knees slightly bent and place your feet in shoulder width.
Lean over, grab resistance band with crossed arms and push it towards your shoulder. Make sure you bend over only so far that your back is still straight.
Then slowly push your back up until you are straight and back to starting position.
This also engages your core a lot.
To make this exercise hard you can roll into the starting position and slowly unfold until you are straight again. Then repeat.
Please start out with light resistance/weight first to get a feeling for this exercise.
Tip:
Squeeze your glutes and then push your hip a little to the front when you’re straight for more effect
